2018 was a year of significant developments for our company. We have had the great opportunity to work with so many people and organizations, each and every one engaged in inspiring and important work to support the sustainability, health, and safety of communities across Canada.

Our work focused on building organizational capacity in health equity, mental health and addiction service provision, and crime prevention and community safety. We had the opportunity to support people experiencing addiction and/or mental health problems by supporting over 100 health, mental health, and addiction service providers in Ontario and British Columbia. In addition, we contributed to evidence, knowledge, and international best practice including important research and evaluation work to support the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ community members and Indigenous youth across Canada and the privilege of providing input into the UN Habitat’s international guidelines on Safer Cities, through Felix’s role with the Canadian Municipal Network on Crime Prevention (CMNCP).

We also increased our work in environmental sustainability, providing expertise and facilitation of community engagement processes to inform climate change adaptation planning and other strategic sustainability initiatives.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge members of our team—Sarah Brown, Devon Fernandes, and Gobi Jeyaratnam—who have moved on. Thank you for your valuable contributions and we wish you all the best in your next endeavors. Sarah Brown and Devon Fernandes, we look forward to your continued contribution as content experts.

As we look toward 2019, we are excited about developing new relationships and nurturing existing ones to continue supporting champions of health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
